Cindy Hancock
Cindy Hancock believes all individuals deserve the opportunity to live gratifying lives, experience good health, and contribute to their community. She is consistently inspired by groups of empathetic, driven individuals who identify a need in their community, listen to stakeholders, and put plans into action.
At BWF, Cindy provides counsel in donor relations including acknowledgment, stewardship, donor recognition, and major gift strategy. Cindy’s incredible passion for her work has led to over two decades of experience in the philanthropic industry. She considers it her privilege to demonstrate to donors the impact of their generosity and how it’s transforming the world.
Cindy is a frequent legislative advocacy volunteer with the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation and has recently been appointed as a reviewer on the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s Research Committee (assessing grant applications from physician-scientists). She is also a former board member of the Association of Donor Relations Professionals (ADRP).
“We must not, in trying to think about how we can make a big difference, ignore the small daily differences we can make which, over time, add up to big differences that we often cannot foresee.” Marian Wright Edelman, Founder and President Emerita, Children's Defense Fund
In her spare time, Cindy loves gardening and reading longform journalism and nonfiction, as well as enjoying all visual and performing arts, particularly jazz, ballet, and contemporary art.
