While drafting trusts as a new attorney, Kari discovered the power planned giving has in making a difference in the life of the donor, the recipient nonprofit, and the community. Her career transitioned into 25 years of fundraising and leadership experience in the nonprofit, healthcare, and education sectors. Kari has a passion for developing leadership, building a culture of philanthropy, and elevating the practice of governance. In her work as a consultant, she is able to engage all three of these disciplines to help nonprofits flourish and strengthen the impact they have on the world.
As an associate vice president at BWF, Kari utilizes her wealth of experience including her expertise in planned giving, principal gifts, campaign planning, and board development to support and guide nonprofits primarily located in the Midwest region.
Kari has been a panelist or presenter at numerous regional professional workshops including AFP-MN and MGPA, where she is currently a board member.
Kari enjoys spending her free time with her husband Mark and their two sons, enjoying a good meal with friends, traveling as much as possible, and beekeeping.
